Now this is the first Polish monastery's beer, but the Szczyrzyc's monk beer has a long tradition. It is sold in bottles or tins. Has about 5,8 per cent of alcohol. There are some fine quality vodkas to be found. They come in many flavours. Try lemon or cherry - or Zubrowka (with a blade of bison grass in it)
The food of the country has been influenced by Jewish, Lithuanian, Russian, Ukranian, Hungarian, Lithuanian and German cuisine. Like evry country they have their own national dishes: Bigos – sauerkraut and meat Barszcz – beetroot soup (often served with meat in it) Pierogi - dumplings with various fillings Leave a Comment Theme: Local

A Traditional Polish Restaurant
You must eat at a traditional restaurant while in Poland. In general the meal will be heaps of meat (usually pork), either dumplings or potatoes and a big pile of boiled cabbage. Most dishes seem to be a variation on this them. This should be a big hit with anyone who enjoys a hearty meal. These dishes go especially well with beer so don't forget to order a large mug to wash it all down! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

This is more like a FOOD TIP. What you see in the picture is a guy selling 'oscypek.' It's a type of sheep cheese. The cheese is very tasty. It is shaped like a football (American football) and has some intricate carvings on it. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherOther Contact: This is very funny. One time I w

Restaurant is located on the hill in old traditional hause (like small castle). And restaurant is in countryside therefore prices are reasonable (=much cheaper then in e.g. Warsaw).
Menus from of traditional polish kitchen. Really try e.g. 'Duck with apples' with 'sour soup' But ask a waiter for advise and you will like it Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Restaurant is located 10km from Kwidzyn, 100km south from Gdansk. Easy to find, if you are with car just ask in Kwidzyn about 'Bialy Dwor' or take a taxi (appr. 12USD)

There is a Indian (as of India) restaurant in Bydgoszcz. One of the best I've tasted. India's decor and ambient athmosphere, feels as if you've gone through a twilight zone...

Gospoda Pod Kogutem. If you're in Warsaw, it's in New Town (Nowe Miasto), which is actually in Old Town. The name causes people to stay in the Old Town written on the map. This means that when you walk past the Barbacan from Old Town to New Town, you suddenly have 1/4 the tourists, walking straight you run into a restaurant by name of Gospoda Pod Kogutem. For Warsaw it has great old-style Polish food with cheap beer ($1.50 a pint) and food (appetizers $2, main dishes around $5-$6). It's in an old traditional style, drawing on Polish culture.
Beef steak with green pepper sauce. Awesome! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: Nowe Miasto in Warsaw, past the square in Nowe Miasto on the right.

I ate in Restaurant Eden only once in late 90'. What do I remember? - very nice service, - good variety of traditional Polish dishes - delicious food, - interesting interior design and rather ugly exterior, - loooooong waiting for dishes, - more then average prices, - there was a small hotel there as well. . My concusion: if you like good Polish food it's a good restaurant when you are driving from Warsaw to Katowice (direction Wien in Austria). .
Polish duck - simply delicious. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageDirections: A few kilometers from Warsaw (city border) direction Katowice-Wien; on the right side of the dual carriage way.
