Not sure of the name of the restaurant but there is a chain of crepe restaurants that I frequented while in Krakow. One shop can be found just behind the big church in the old town square. You can get a meal-type crepe filled with chicken or vegetables and wash it down with a desert crepe filled with oranges and whipped cream. Delicious!
Nearly all restaurants in Warsow and Cracow have the same menu: Chicken or fish fillet with green salad and smashed potatoes with some spices (typical food) but i wouldn't recommend the sort of soups the restaurants offer.
There were two fav restaurants that I had in the old town square of Poznan. This one is called Red Erics. It had great people working there who were a lot of fun and many a good night was spent there by all.Everything...food and beer not cheap by Polish standards but well worth it. Favourite menu item without doubt was the restaurants namesake Red Eric. Aparently a Danish beer which is brewed with Berries and champange...hit the spot without fail every time.
A great place by the name of Sphinx that is in the old town square. It's got it all the atmosphere, th food and best of all waiters that are brilliant. Oved it all. Over the time we stayed in Poznan would have been there about six times. While saying that Pizzas are awesome as is the steak I'm told.
This is more like a FOOD TIP. What you see in the picture is a guy selling 'oscypek.' It's a type of sheep cheese. The cheese is very tasty. It is shaped like a football (American football) and has some intricate carvings on it.
There is a Indian (as of India) restaurant in Bydgoszcz. One of the best I've tasted.India's decor and ambient athmosphere, feels as if you've gone through a twilight zone... Everything you see on the menu
Restaurant is located on the hill in old traditional hause (like small castle). And restaurant is in countryside therefore prices are reasonable (=much cheaper then in e.g. Warsaw). Menus from of traditional polish kitchen. Really try e.g.'Duck with apples' with 'sour soup' But ask a waiter for advise and you will like it
Chlopskie Jadlo (The l's are pronounced as w's)The traditional Polish food is given a lift upwards in quality. Even Poles go there despite the higher than average prices and the chances of one tourist to many. The decoration is also quite unique. Beet root soup with mushroom dumplings
Gospoda Pod Kogutem. If you're in Warsaw, it's in New Town (Nowe Miasto), which is actually in Old Town. The name causes people to stay in the Old Town written on the map. This means that when you walk past the Barbacan from Old Town to New Town, you suddenly have 1/4 the tourists, walking straight you run into a restaurant by name of Gospoda Pod Kogutem. For Warsaw it has great old-style Polish food with cheap beer ($1.50 a pint) and food (appetizers $2, main dishes around $5-$6).It's in an old traditional style, drawing on Polish culture. Beef steak with green pepper sauce. Awesome!
this is a place for chocoholics in downtown Warsaw - if you are in the city on a cold winter day and need something nurturing to warm you up, this is the place to go. Not the place to consider calories,of course! hot chocolate
