Przyoda i przyjaciele is and annual children international folklore festival organized by folklore group Przygoda. Przygoda can perform a variety of polish songs and dances and they travel a lot, so we met them few years ago in Ukraine and made friends immediately. Last year they were our guests, this year we were theirs.

Well, about the festival, this year there were several children groups from Poland, Ukraine and Croatia.

If you have the chance to see Przygoda performing somewhere, do not miss it, they are very good.

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is "Rybnik" Power Plant in suburbs of Rybnik.
It currently has the capacity of 1760 MW in eight units, being the largest power plant in the region of Upper Silesia. At the same time it is one of the largest power plants in the Polish power system.
The boilers installed in the Power Plant are fired with hard coal supplied from more than ten local mines. The annual coal consumption for power generation is ca. 3 million tons.
The Power Plant has considerable achievements in emission reductions but hmm... the air pollution still seems to be rather high.
    ...
Rybnik is famous its rich mining traditions dating back to the end of 18th century. However traces of the steel industry are even older. They date back to the Middle Ages ( first mentioned in 1500 and 1585 ). The building of new coal mines after 1955 caused a significant growth of employment and development of the town.
