A car is the best
First drive to Zywiec - city famous of 19th brewery which produces 2nd most popular beer in Poland: ZYWIEC.
From Zywiec drive road number 945, follow direction signs to Korbielow and SLO=Slovakia, there is border crossing point to Slovakia in Korbielow.
Drive carefully in Jelesnia and look for the beautiful, big, dark-brown 1-story wooden cottage on the right just by the road, it's impossible not to find it. The cottage is an old inn and houses delicious, regional restaurant called KARCZMA (=inn) - so you can even should to stop here (there is parking in front of the restaurant) - food is delicious, interior is simple, just primitive wooden design but looks great.
Just after Karczma turn right and after maybe3-4 km turn left in the forest on the only crossword - you are on the road which ends in Sopotnia Wielka on the foothills of Pilsko Summit.
Driving looong along the village stop by the PKS bus stop called WODOSPADY (=waterfalls) where there is a road to the right and a bridge and a small store/grocery on the left. Go to the bridge and admire the highest waterfalls in the Beskidy Mountains, they look marvelous in winter.
Stop to see the waterfalls
When you drive the "main" road in Sopotnia Wielka stop to see the highest waterfalls in the Beskidy Mountains (not big btw but pretty).
Where is it?
Driving from Zywiec it's on the right side of the road very close to the crossroad seen on my picture (the pic is made from the bridge; to left: Zywiec, to right: Sopotnia Wielka, waterfalls are a few steps to the left).
Roads in winter
The main road in Sopotnia is narrow and... bumpy especially in wintertime, sometimes there are too much snow, so it maybe not so easy to get there.
From October till April, seldom in September or May the road maybe covered by snow.
Horses and sledges
Instead of cars you can see... horses and sledges in Sopotnia Wielka - is it really 21st century? Hehe.
