The John Paul II statue in Stalowa Wola is one of those built before His death which may be seen (and this is how I see it) as a "faux-pas".
However now it gained some sense as time changed things...
He looks great here.

This small wooden church represents a very rare kind of sacral architecture. St. Florian's church was built in 1802 in the village Stany. Then, in 1943 due to a lack of such buildings in new-growing Stalowa Wola was transported and rebuilt here. As a wooden church it's one of not many such buildings in Europe (also in Poland most of them are being replaced by new ones). In a local scale this would be a pearl. When you're somewhere near- take a look.

The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola just as the town itself is very young. Veeeery :). It was established in 1999 and since then became the cultural heart of Stalowa Wola. It already hosted exhibits of Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and some of the greatest Polish painters (and contrary to what some may think- we've had a few...). It's expositions are divided to three sections:
-the history of the region (including prehistory and even some mamoth remains)
-Ethnographic section (regional culture and customs from the past)
-Art section (with a normal exhibition and and temporary ones).
Generally- much more than I expected, and I think it won't dissapoint you too (unless you expect Louvre:P). Check the website to know whether there will be somthing interesting when you come.
Prices
for the regular exhibition:
2zl normal (€0,5)
1zl half-price (€0,2)
for the temporary exhibitions:
7zl normal (€1,5)
5zl half-price (€1- not really half price:P)
