by vysnaite

Mikolaiki with Tropikana water park- fun, but very very touristy. A complex of pools, water trails takes 2000 square km place. With sauna, jacuzzi, pools, trails, water amusments, pools and for kids , but quite a trap.

by Hil

In the Biesczady, don't expect to find a good dinner at the end of your exhausting trip. Some mountain huts are near a shop or a pub, but others are in the middle of nowhere. We lived on cookies for 2 days and that's not a good basis for a hiking trip.

Wilczy Szaniec or Wolfsschanze...

by utttz

Wilczy Szaniec or Wolfsschanze or Wolf's Lair: the hitler main headquarters during WWII and the location where Von Stauffenberg tried to kill him with a bomb....About 80 bunkers in a dark forest and as most tourist trap worth seeing! the only problem is the site is not well maintained and it costs too much for the service can go . If you don't need to park at the main entrance, you can follow the road on your right looking at the entrance, then first on your left. When you see an abandoned railway on your left, park and cross it... your near to goering's bunker. You can visit the whole complex, buy a guide, have a beer and everything you like without being 'robbed' at the entrance... To reach the site follow the sign for the wolfschanze camping.... you won't find any 'official sign'. By the way, the camping is in the area... we didn't stop there but it seemed nice.

Parking security.

We were advised by Polish friends that you must be very vigilant when your car is parked in certain places. They had been told of wheels being removed.

Be aware of non-licenced taxi cabs. They charge a fortune and are the biggest rip-offs. Take only a TAXI with a meter (preferably on :}:}:})

Do not be talked into changing money on the street at a good exchange rate. You will find that what you get is OLD Polish Money that is worth nothing.
