As I 've told before the ways...
As I 've told before the ways is the only problem we have in Poland.
Is better you gat there by plane or by bus. The ways are very bad there
Think that for go form Slubice (polish frontiers with Germany) to Warsaw took me 7 hours!! The distance is just of about 400 Km……
In Poland you can move by train, bus or if you go to visit a city you can buy a weekly ticket. The tickets costs 26,00 zl and 13,00 zl for students.
Unfortunately in Poland there aren’t undergrounds, just in Warsaw a very short piece……….
Guess, the best way to travel...
Guess, the best way to travel to Poland is by bus! It's because the distance among towns and cities are long, but nature is beautiful, so you can feel comfortable in the bus and in the same time you can see Polands nature. Poland is full of lakes, big, small, nice lakes! You have to see it!
From North America, there are...
From North America, there are nonstop flights to Warsaw from a number of cities, notably New York, Chicago, Montreal, and Toronto. LOT Polish Airlines has gotten rid of all its old Russian fleet and replaced it with state-of-the-art Boings and Airbuses.
From Europe, the train is probably the best, though there are buses as well. You can also go by ferry from Nordic, Baltic, and German ports. Most passenger ferries go to Gdansk. Clearly, you can also drive; however, many western European rental-car companies will not allow you to drive into Poland for insurance reasons.
Train passengers take note: Not many railway employees know anything other than Polish. If you're buying a ticket at the station, be sure to write down the name of the town (Polish spelling, please!), the time of departure in the 24hr system, and the date. The date should read, for example, 2 VII 2000 (2 July 2000). They get very confused if you do not use Roman numerals for the month. The class should be noted in Roman numerals as well.
Train and bus, though I prefer the train. Service is quite good, and fares are still low compared with the rest of Europe. In first class, they even serve fairly substantial snacks free of charge. The rolling stock is clean and seems to be in good condition.

Being from Chicago, daily flights on LOT Airlines, and other connecting flights from European capitals on British Airways, Lufthansa, United, AirFrance, SAS, Sabena

I'm told LOT, the Polish National Airline offers inexpensive travel into Poland. We arrived by private car.
Although we traveled by private car, a very detailed map makes travel easier. One good news item - traffic signs to important and scenic places give directions in Polish and English! A Real Help.
Good road surfaces and drivers.

The train system in Poland is still developing and isn't the most efficient around. The pospieszny is the fast train and the osobowy is the slow train.
Rent a car
Polish and international rental agencies are well represented at airports, railway stations and at major hotels.
Roads in Poland are in poor condition. We don't have highways and we do our best to repair those roads we have. New roads are built at a very slow pace.
From Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark) to Gdansk, Gdynia and Swinoujscie (most services have car-freighting facilities).
From Europe by plane
