There are many beautiful sites in szklarska poreba. Pretty little village with a main road with many little cafes and shops along. (remember to go in the cake shops)
My favourite places had to be the waterfalls. Wodospad Kamieńczyk and Wodospad Szklarka are two naturally occuring waterfalls. There is a moving rock called 'chybotek' which is rather scary to walk on, but still fun.
The best thing to do is to just spend a day walking in the mountains. Take a cable car half way up, then walk through forest and rocks to the top where an amazing view waits for you. At the top there is a wonderful cafe as a pit stop. The walk down takes you through more forest and small streams. Amazing place for photos on a nice day. From the top of Mt. Szrenica you can see villages and towns many kms away.

Favorite thing: Szklarska Poreba is located in south-western Poland about 130km from the Lower Silesian capital Wroclaw. The town is situated at the foot of the western part of the Karkonosze Mts., which are incorporated to the huge mountain rage named Sudety. Foreign tourist looking for comprehensive guidebooks written in good English now have choice - a new tourist guidebook - Out and About Szklarska Poreba. It was a real pleasure to hike the mountains with this little book.
Fondest memory: I was tought skiing in this town. Ski touring is wonderful ! Karkonosze are really beautiful and worth visiting.
