This is a new restaurant in Square Markt. You can go inside or sit in the garten.
I was there with friends and we ate PAELLA.
There are too tortilla, salades, toasts....

Restaurant Pastelowa is a small and simply furnished place which is famous for its reasonably priced pancakes. The panacakes come in all sorts of variations from sweet to hearty.

If you like beer you should visit Spiz at least once. What makes this place interesting is that you can see here how beer is brewed. With your beer you will get bread with lard - some people say it's delicious. There's also a restaurant, where besides Polish dishes you can order gazpacho or pancakes in orange sauce.

Karczma Mlynska (Mill Inn) occupies the ground floor of Hotel Tumski and also has a nice summer terrace with great riverside views. They serve traditional Polish meals and international delicacies.

I have already noticed Sphinx restaurants in other Polish cities on my previous trips, so when I was in Wroclaw I decided to give this Polish chain of Middle Eastern cuisine a try. The distance between tables is quite small and the restaurant is usually packed with a youngish crowd.
Their menu offers a wide range of international food from Pizza to Kebabs. I decided for a Shawarma which came on a big plate with rice and a pile of cabbage (Shoarma zapieczona serem; 18,90 Zloty; 2006). On my first evening in Wroclaw I met up with two local VT members and we agreed on having dinner in Pod Gryfami (Under the Griffins).
It has various dining rooms in nostalgic 15th and 18th century cellars as well as a nice outside seating terrace facing the Market Square.
Polish and international dishes are listed on the menu. I finally opted for the tasty royal style sirloin steak with silesian dumplings (poledwiczka po krolewsku; 38 Zloty; 2006).

I think the restaurant Under the Griffins will satisfy the most refined culinary tastes. But to come there and focus only on sensations connected with eating your ordered dish would be just a sin. The place itself is amazing. It is hard to believe that just a few years ago there used to be an ordinary shop with baby clothes here. Today the interior, and especially the labyrinth of cellars , makes you feel as if you were in an art gallery. Actually, the owners - Mrs and Mr Horszowscy, run also the gallery and antique shop which offer old furniture, ceramics and jewellery. While in the restaurant, look around for stylish mirrors, beautiful paintings, old instruments and objects of daily use, like an old sewing machine.
Coming back to more prosaic things.... You'll find here European cuisine but also traditional Polish dishes, a big choice of wines and delicious cakes baked in their own confectionery.
We ate there roast duck with apples, served with dumplings and a poppy cake for dessert. Simply delicious.

This traditional, slightly upmarket restaurant right on the market square might look like a tourist trap at first sight with its central location and medieval interieur, but it was packed with locals and the food was really good.
If you want to try authentic Polish cuisine at moderate prices the Gospoda Wroc³awska is an excellent and very convenient choice.
