by evona Last year there was built a "old" wooden town... This is the Slavonic settlement. You can see here how make the earthenwares or weave a fabric... Time to time you can see too a historical battle...
In Partynice there is the Wroclawski Tor Wyscigowy ( The Racetrack of Wroclaw)
You can ride here a horse or see the horses race. Leave a Comment

The beautiful paving and the ancient atmosphere one can breathe in the Rynek are somehow spoiled with these modern structures: a fountain and a football ball. I don't think they are ugly in themselves, but they don't fit to the Renaissance style that characterizes the rest of the square. The administration that let them be built must not have had much aesthetic sense. Leave a Comment

by ZiOOlek This is terrible when you walk on the main market square and admire the beauty of the architecture and finally see a aweful building. This is a building of Bank Zachodni WBK. It does not fit the style and atmosphere of the old town.

I'll take care of you ... at a price! by marishabandb Toilets Don't be afraid if you are accosted by a large Polish woman upon entering the public toilet. You simply must pay to use all public toilets, usually around one zloty. However, please note that while using a public toilet is a paid service it does not guarantee that toilet paper will be available. The toilet situation is improving throughout all of Poland, but it is still wise to carry some tissues into the toilet just in case, especially on trains. In addition, some restaurants and bars are still irritatingly charging for use of the toilet even if you are a customer. Yes, it's annoying but in the end it's only a zloty. And just to thoroughly confuse you, Poland uses a circle to denote women's toilets and a triangle to denote men's toilets. Remember: women circles, men triangles.
Make sure you have some tissues and small change with you.
Alternative? I don't think there is an alternative for this one ... when you've got to go, you've got to go!!! Leave a Comment

Don't go shopping around to all the exchange shops to change your money. They're all practically the same rate. Now some can be a-holes when it comes to service, like one just outside the main post office in the Rynek, and the 24 hour one at the train station, the people there usually seem half-dead, but in any case, don't go to banks, you're wasting your time to enjoy this wonderful city. Most people think Poland is a cold weather country........... and here we have a trap!!! If you do not like temperatures higher than 35 degrees Celsius so please do not choose July as a time to visit Wroclaw. Wroclaw has always belonged to the hottest places in Poland and Northern Europe. At present you may add a global warming effect and belive me! you have 'great' chance to be roasting between end of June and beginning of August. The best time to come is May, September and October. April also can be pleasant.
