Favorite thing: see the Old Town. Old Town of Bydgoszcz is very small, so it will not take too much time. If you like 'old towns' go to Torun (40 km to the east), where the old town is really beautiful. At the picture you can see Zaulek street.
The most unusual place to see in this city is 'Venecja Bydgoska' (Bydgoszcz Venece). The neighborhood is old and it's set up in the overgrown city park over the river. It's a place not known to tourists because it's rather poor and settled by polish gypsies. The place has character and it's very romantic. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for something a little more 'exotic' in rather dull city.
Fondest memory: I spent my childhood there. My memories.... I'll have to write a novel about them someday.
Favorite thing: One of the nicest examples of modern architecture in Bydgoszcz is buildig of bank situated on Brda river near granaries opposite to post office.
Fondest memory: Sometimes Bydgoszcz can be beautiful. In the picture you can see a rainbow over the Brda. There is a Post Office building on the left side, and BRE Bank buildings on the right.
Favorite thing: wander the 'Wenecja Bydgoska' ('Venice of Bydgoszcz'). At the picture you can see a view from 'Wyspa Mlynska' (Mill Island). There is Opera Nova in the background.
Favorite thing: see the old part of Bydgoszcz. At the picture you can see the Post Office (neo-gothic complex of buildings, 1883-85, red brick) and the three old monumental Grain Granaries.
Favorite thing: see an example of the new architecture of Bydgoszcz: BRE Bank buildings at the Brda river (Old Town zone).
