    It is worth to do trip to town of Chelmno from Torun for 1-2 days. Chelmno old nicely preserved town, very interesting tourist destination in region. Chelmno is definitely one of the most valuable destinations in Kujawia region.

    Extremely dangerous museum :)

    Lovers of zoology can visit zoological museum in Torun. It really exists there.

    Different birds, animals, insects, creepy-crawlies etc are exposed there.
    Museum locates ~40 min walk from old town near the main building of Torun Copernicus University. Very ok to go there by a city bus.

    Houses in Chelmza, Poland/Europe

    Staying in Torun for several days it is worth to do day trip to quiet town of Chelmza, that is situated in 20 km from Torun. It is former capital of region, town with well preserved urban building system. Over the old town tower two medieval churches.
    Especially Chelmza is good in summer, becouse there is lake Chelmzynskie with beach just 10 minuts walk form old town square. Good place for swimming and sun bathing.

    NCU - a few facts to know

    SOUTHERN  WALL  OF  UNIVERSITY  AULA

    The Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU) in Torun was established in 1945. It is the largest university in northern Poland. It's one of the best universities in Poland as well.

    A few facts:
    1. A 32-metre (105-feet) radiotelescope, the third biggest in Europe, operates at the Centre of Astronomy;
    2. Prof. Aleksander Wolszczan discovered the first planetary system outside our solar system just there;
    3. More and more foreign students from all over the world study there - very good and inexpensive education; details: click here.

    SOUTHERN  WALL  OF  UNIVERSITY  AULA

    Southern wall of the university aula where my professional convention took place look quite nice. Notice Copernicus face at top-left corner. The buildings of the university don't look nice just except this wall, I think.

    NCU - ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING (NOT TOO BIG?)

    I was on business in Torun last time - on my professional convention which took place at Nicolaus Copernicus University (NCU). I didn't have much time but I surely escaped hehe to visit and take pictures for VT. So, my itinerary around Torun started just at the university.

    NICOLAUS  COPERNICUS  UNIVERSITY

    The NCU occupies a broad local base - almost 60 buildings are situated on the central academic campus, and others are located elsewhere in the city and its vicinity. I started my Torun tour at the central academic campus located in a district called "Bielany", approx. 3 km (2 miles) northwest of Torun old city.
