Szeroka Street: Plenty to choose from
Szeroka Street, the street that leads from the Old Town Square toward the New Town Square, is lined with lots of shops selling everything from jewelry to shoes to electronics and is a great place to window shop, people watch or, hey, actually buy something!
Flower stalls: Nice Stems!!!
Right in the main square, there are plenty of flower vendors and during my stay in Torun, I noticed they were open virtually ALL the time. In this picture, I just couldn't help but noticing a long, smooth pair of stems . . .
What to buy: Pierniki – If you visit Torun you have to taste torunskie pierniki. Im Middle ages, when there was peste epidemy in Torun, nun Katarzyna from Torun had nothing to feed the people. The mice king Kocistrach, to thank for saving his life, showed her boxes with 50-year-old dough. She baked gingerbread (pierniki) called Katarzynki, out of it,. It was the old custom to give gingerbread as a gift for the royal families.
