Although I have already been to Poland quite a few times before this two weeks trip through south eastern Poland, I felt the need to buy a good guide book.
Most of the places which we visited on thisr trip (May 2010) were not covered by any of the In Your Pocket guides, which are usually my prefered guide books when travelling through Eastern Europe.
So I finally decided to get myself "The Rough Guide to Poland - 7th edition". It includes about 40 pages about Lublin and the surounding region. I found the guide quite handy for this trip as it offered many practical tips for independent travels.

Lublin's Tourist Information Office is well equipped with many free brochures and maps. There is also a section where you can buy all sorts of souvenirs as well as travel guides about Lublin and the surrounding region.
I picked up a large free A3 map of Lublin. Beside a short description of the main sights it also included information about the "Tourist Routes of Lublin". Please read my "Transportation tip - Explore Lublin on foot" for more info about these.
The Tourist Information Office of Lublin can be found at the street ul. Jeszuicka 1/3, which is just at the beginning of the old town when coming through the Krakow Gate.
