nice cellar with log fire candles and atmosphere on the main square
the food was tasty i had a pork in a spicey sauce and the portion was huge i had no room left for a pud, well worth a visit.
Favorite Dish: pork in sauce
This is a wonderful restaurant, situated in th basement of a building at 43, Rynek Glowny, on the main square just opposite the Cloth Hall Market.
The staff are very friendly, the meals are gargantuan and the prices very reasonable. Even the wine is not too expensive, compared to UK prices.
I would recommend the local soup, but be warned, the main course may well be beyond your capacity. This must be one of the best bargains in Europe, but Shhh, don't tell anyone.
Favorite Dish: I had the old fashioned soup and pork steak and it was excellent
Pod Sloncem Restauracja & Pub ....

We were staying near the sqaure in
Old Town, and this place is one of
those "cellar restaurants" you enter
right on the square.

During our stay in Krakow, this became our favourite restaurant. It is located in a cellar, at Rynek Glowny, not far from St. Mary's Church. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, at very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a big recommendation!
Favorite Dish: Too much to describe - everything we tasted was great. We tried different soups (Barszcz, Onion Soup, Garlic Soup), different Szaszlyks, spicy pancakes (Nalesniki), different deserts (most notably Szarlotka - very yummy apple cake). It was all great.
