  • Polakowski Self Service Restaurant: Typical Local Polish Food with English Menu

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Located along small street just off the market square. Well decorated and clean. Self service restaurant.
They have English menu as well.
You either can point to the food displaced on the shelf or order from the menu. If you food need to be prepared, they will write the number sequence at the back of your receipt. When your food is ready, they will ring the bell and your number will be displaced on the wall and it is ready for collection at the counter.

Favorite Dish: Breaded chicken with tomato sauce, spinach pancake.

  • Restaurancja Samoobstugowa: Cheap, large portions and nice atmosphere

Ths restaurant is one in which you go up to the counter and order the food - menu is in Polish and small, but they have the food mostly in front of you, so you can point to it. Women serve at the food station. SO, guess it's like a cafeteria. Center of Stare Miasto. We had fish, cabbage, kasha, some fried meat dish (kotlet - 7 zl or about $2.00 US), pierogies, sour soup and 2 cokes. Total: about $12.50 U.S. Huge amount of food. Restaurant is bright, with luxurious curtains and not cheap looking.

Favorite Dish: All typical Polish fare. Very good deal for the price.

This place we really found by accident while walking around, we noticed that surly the customers are local people, and if local people eat here it must be good and best value for money.
And yes it was, full dinner including the drinks was 5 euro per person.
Don’t miss it while visiting Krakow.
