The Warsaw Zoo (in Praga district , just opposite the Old Town) is certainly a great place to spend a warm summer afternoon!
The point is not only to see the animals, but also the beautiful park with well kept flower -beds and nice ponds. The Zoo may pride itself on fairly large number of animals as well, even quite rare ones. One of the things worth mentioning is a collection of fish in well laid-out aquariums and a tropical garden.
The Zoo is really well maintained, and has many nice nooks and crannies, so it impressed me even more than Vienna Zoo ( may the Austrians forgive me!).
The photos of the animals may be bought in a kiosk at the back of the garden, so don`t bother taking photos yourself- these are certainly better!
The Warsaw is a city of greenery and parks, so don`t miss to see this one! It is worth visiting!
Elephants... finally, after few years we have elephants in Warsaw again. They were welcomed with champagne ;-) Elephants have very big, new house, built especially for them, with waterfall inside. They should feel good there.
Warsaw's zoological garden exists over 70 years so it has to be renovated and rebuilt. But now every animal has a good living condition (of course if we can say that living in zological garden is something good for any animal).
Of course zoological garden is the biggest attraction for children. There is a special place where they can feed the small animals like goats, rabbits, donkeys, play with them etc. Because animals also need some rest children are allowed to play with them only from Monday to Friday.
Visit Warsaw's zoological garden. It's nice place for long walking.
Zoological garden is open daily from 9 a.m. to the evening (it depends on the weather).
Tickets price: 12 zl, children from 4 y.o. 6 zl.
