    Beautiful park - the castle was meant to be a 'Polish Versailles'. The Polish kings didnĀ“ t get much opportunity to enjoy it due to the partitions and the loss of national independence in 18th century. There is, however, a gallery of those who were fortunate enough to reign before

    There are some magnificent gardens to wander around.Wilanow Palace has been both a museum and a residence of the guests of the Polish state.

    There is a fantastic poster muesum to be found here.

    The river at Wilanow

    The river at Wilanow is a perfect place to spend a few hours relaxing and maybe having a picnic. It is a beautiful spot in which to escape the hussle and bustle of the city.

    There are beautiful gardens within the grounds of Wilanow to wander around in. There is a beautiful Japanese pagoda.

    Sobieski chose this palace as his summer residence. It reminds very much to the french Versailles.
    Nowadays you can visit the gorgeous halls in this baroque palace.

    Palac w Wilanowie or Wilanow Palace.
    Wilanow Palace and its gardens are striking. Both were commissioned by king Jan Sobieski as his summer residence. Pay attention to the detail!
