Skyscraper in Katowice by sihi Katowice has few skyscrapers. They are not so big like in Warsaw, but... Katowice is more "skyscraper friendly" then any other big city in Poland(after Warsaw). Katowice is surrounded by big cities like Bytom, Sosnowiec, Tychy,... and is as large industrial center. May-be because of that office-rooms are needed in Katowice. Leave a Comment

I always change currencies at Kantor Wymiany Walut of Andrzej Tomczyk in 12 Mickiewicza street in Katowice. The exchange office is located in the city center. It has good exchage rates. Moreover, it is possible to chage here (buy or sell) not only popular currencies but also currencies from such cuntries like: Bulgaria, Denemark Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Russia, Ukraine and much more. Currencies from mentioned cuntries are not changed in all offices.

by Leipzig To be honest, the city is rather unattractive for tourism, unless you are interested in modern architecture and post-communist transformation processes. Everey here and there you can stumble upon some nice buildings of the Founder Time (built around 1900). Leave a Comment

August 2000 I was working for a firm in Katowice. As the employer actually had problems finding enough work for me, I had a lot of time spare to discover the city and the surroundings. In most travelguides Katowice is rarely mentoned by more than a couple of words, and honestly there aren't that many touristattractions in town. Still it's a really nice place to hang around. It's one of the few cities not to be bombed during the WWII, so the buildings are original. Furthermore there are no tourists there so you get a more true image of what the Poland of today is like, staying there. I'll write more about Katowice when in mood for it. Might scan some of my photos too...
Very pretty girls....Only Reykjavik match them. Cheap, cheap beer. Nice streetcafes. Interesting people. Leave a Comment

overall be vigilant, there is plenty of shopping to do, there are lots of churches to see other than that there is not much else. this really is not a tourist place, it is an industrial working city, not very clean, walking around did make me feel uncomfortable, i found people stared as they knew you were a foreigner and the homeless people do target you. i can honestly say i am glad i have been but would not go back again to katowice would go somewhere which is more for the tourist Leave a Comment
