Swiatowid cinema was founded about 40 years ago. It used to be Colosseum cinema with 400 seats between WW I and WW II. Swiatowid belongs to the international organisation called Europe Cinemas and Arthouse Cinemas Network.
The cienema has 212 comfortable seats. Prices are the same in each day of the week. You won't see film hits at this cinema. They play usually european movies. From time to time you can see Indian, Iranian or other oriental film. Moreover, they organise film nights like German, French or Czech films. Movies are always in original language with Polish subtitles so if you are German, French or Czech you can spend all night at the cinema and enjoy your national films in different country.:) Consulates General usually give something to eat and drink for these who decided to stay at the cinema for all the night. This is just an example of magical place in Katowice. Every day there are some events in Czakram club. You may dance tango, learn how meditate, take part in a concert (tribal, deep house, twisted house, diderjidoo etc.) or just watch photos, paintings in the gallery.
Czakram is a dark place with lots of candles. There is a special smell of incenses. All these makes the atmosphere of the place. You may smoke water pipe here or take your shoes off and seat on the floor and drink tea in a tea-room. This is one of the most orginal club in Katowice. It has its own unique atmosphere and attracts people. This is the place that if visted once wants to be visted next time! The bar staff is really friendly and you may seat ner the bar and spek to nice girls when alone. In June 2005 Spiz club was opend after 3 years of its renovation. The club is loctaed in an old printing house what makes it unique. Katowice is one of the best clubbing centre of Poland and I would say that Spiz club is one of the best dance clubs in Katowice!
What makes the club unique is also its own brewery and restaurant. This is the second this kind of place on Poland (there is a brewery Spiz in Wroclaw's city hall since 1992). This is the first mini brewery with a dance club in Europe!
The club has two levels and two dance floors, about 600 seats and more than 2000 m2. Spiz brewery has 500 years old tradition. You may get different kind of beer here: from normal, strong to carmel or honey.
The club is open every day. From Monday to Satruday from 2 p.m., on Sunday from 4 p.m.

Arkada is one of students clubs in Katowice. It is kept by students and for students. Is is open from 8:30 a.m. till 9 p.m. On weekends from 9.p.m till 4 a.m. there is a traditional Student Party (concerts, dancing, cabarets etc.). Dependably on situation there are also other events...
I would say that is it rahter a pub, not a club. It is not a huge place but there is a floor and possibility to dance. Tables are around the dancing floor. When I went to the club it occured that it was almost empty (the entry fee was free of charge that day). This is why I suppose that it is not a popular destination among students... I is rather good to drink beer or so, not for dancing...

Bob Pub was founded here in 1989 but tradition of existing pubs here is as long as 1934. In this year the first pub was founded in 8 Chopina street. This is the place mostly for students. It is one of the most popular place among university students in Katowice. Men may find here beautiful girls and women may find inteligent and smart boys.;)
Menu offers a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There are also some fast-food meals, such as: hamburgers, hot-dogs or french fries. You may listen to here jazz, etno, hip hop, ska, reggae, pop, rock etc.

The building doesn't look nice from outside. However, the interior is fine. There are three floors in Wyzszy Wymiar. On two of them you can dance, and on the third just sit and drink. On the first floor there is techno and disco music, on the second floor mix of pop, hiphop, oldies and dancehall. Prices are about the average. There are usually young people, university students from Katowice.

This is one of the most popular pub in Katowice among students. Kredens is really well designed and this is probably why it is so popular. It makes a unique atmosthere of the place. Moreover, the staff is really nice and friendly.
Kredens offers, except beers, pizzas, pierogies and some more snacks or other dishes. They have also a wide variety of wines, especially from Germany.
