Fripp Sarp Jazz Cafe: Refreshingly Different

    fripp sarp

A nice bar, right on the rynek, that is NON-SMOKING. Not too expensive, and you can often listen to live jazz or blues. There's a CD store that is open during the day. Good selection, good music, and comfortable seats make this place my favorite place in the rynek.

    Town Square

    by Lord-Vini Written Sep 28, 2006

In the Poznan town square there are lost of bars as you would expect. The Irish pub was very nice and there is another bar which brews it's own beer in it's celler! Sorry I can't remember what it's called.

    Za Kulisami: A traveller's bar

by afowles Updated Nov 4, 2005

Quite near the Stary Rynek, this bar is my favorite spot to end a pub crawl. The walls are lined with what looks like thousands of paperbacks yellowing from both age and smoke. The bar itself is covered with notes and business cards of visitors past.

The bar staff is quite friendly and speak English. The bar is usually packed with friendly locals and they keep a chessboard behind the bar if you are up for a drunken challenge (not recommended). On the bar at any given time you will also find bread and smalec (lard in a jar). The locals love it, but I can't bear the sight of the stuff.

Beer is cheap, 1.50 USD a glass.

Dress Code: Naked, if you so wish. Otherwise come as you are.

    Dragon Pub: Latenight Drinking

by afowles Written Aug 25, 2005

A nice pub near the stary rynek. Dark, smoky, and with two fusball (or table football) tables, it makes a nice place to spend long hours (this pub is open later than most bars in Poznan). But beware about those fusball tables. They look free, but the bartender will yell at you and demand ten zloties for a half hour of playing. Just smile nicely and she'll wave the fee.

Dress Code: Come as you are.

    At my age, nightlife spots...

by marishabandb Updated Apr 19, 2003

    Boogie on down

At my age, nightlife spots beyond the theatre, movies or a nice restaurant aren't of very much interest.

But Poznan has a huge international audience visiting regularly, so clubs, bars, discos and casinos cater for all their needs. You won't be bored in Poznan. And don't forget, Poles LOVE to dance and dance very well.
