    Stadium Miejski

The Stadium Miejski (Municipal Stadium) is the home gound of the Polish 1st league football team Lech Poznan.

The stadium was finished in 1980, but during our visit in April 2009 it was under massive construction for the Euro 2012, which will be held in Poland and Ukraine.

For this event the current stadium capacity of 24.200 will be extended to more than 40.000.

The Stadium Miejski is located about 5 km west of the city centre. The best way to get there is to take tram #6, #13 or #15 and get off at the tram stop Bulgarska.

In Poznan you can enjoy for example snowboarding also in summer. Malta sport/rest centre offers great possibilities of winter sports. There is a ben/mountain with a guide rail for bobsley. Another part of ben is organized for skiing, snowtubing etc.. Special cover is there that fills for snow in summer. Ben is equiped with a lifts.
    Great place also for children.

    Warta Poznan

by bonio Written Apr 13, 2012

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A chance to see a game in the City stadium that will be host to three games in Euro 2012.
We joined less than 1000 others to see Warta vs Sandecja Nowy Sącz in the second tier of Polish football.
A 2-1 win for the visitors and a reasonably entertaining game at a price of just 8zl, I'm sure prices will be higher for the Euro games.
The stadium is easily reached by public transport and all staff and fans we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

    Enjoyed our afternoon here.

The stadium is shared with Lech Poznan who play in the top division and attract larger crowds.
