Darlowo is a fishing port & summer holiday resort at the Baltic Sea in Poland. Prior to 1945 it was part of Germany and named Rugenwald. They have an interesting old castle to see in town & the Hotel Lidia by the beach is a first class spa resort with indoor pool, & all the massage & beauty treatments the ladies enjoy. Catering mostly to German tourists, don't expect a lot of people to speak English. From Warsaw take the train to Slupsk. There are inexpesive buses accross from the train station to Darlowo. For a nice fish dinner for 2 with drinks go to the restaurant at the Hotel Eric in town for a little over $ 30.00. There are 2-parts to Darlowo: the main town about a 30-minute walk to the beach hotels like Lidia or $ 4.00 taxi ride. We were there in November 2006, had nice weather & a great time walking along the white sandy beach that streches for miles! As always the prices in Poland can't be beat anywhere in Western Europe!
