You can't go to Poland and not try some of their smoked fish.
This is what we have for breakfast every day.
We try to taste as many different fish as possible - but our favorite as always is smoked salmon which you can get in many different varieties.
What to buy: Smoked fish baby!!!!
What to pay: Price depends on quality of the fish and if the fish is local or imported. If it is imported look for fish from Norway and other scandinavian countries.

Address: all over Szczecin in fish stores and supermarkets
Galaxy is a local Mall located conviniently right in the centre of the city. You can take almost every bus or tram to get there. If the weather sucks it is a place where everybody meets for shopping or just for hanging out in several cafes.
Mall is nice and clean, with visible security staff and plenty of things to do.
There is a movie theatre and few sports clubs like bowling etc.
There is a food court with the typical mall food (american friendly) but there are also few local joints with more sophisticated food.
- the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the region
- 190 shops and service outlets
- hypermarket REAL
- 9-room cinema MULTIKINO
- bowling with billiards and disco
- proffesional climbing wall
- 9 restaurants, 6 cafes and 8 ice-cream shops
- car park, car wash and tire change
What to buy: My favorte is to strool through clothes stores.
As per food I like the "Starbucks-like" coffe take out place on the ground floor, as well as the cafe right in the centre by the elevators.
I also like the cafe on the top floor, the one next to the food court. It has a great hot chocolate.
What to pay: Clothes are more expensive than in US, however, I always manage to find few pieces that are oryginal and not overpriced.
Coffee and all that is really inexpensive and a great way to spend rainy day.
Opening hours M-F 9.00-21.00 and Sunday 10.00-20.00
Entertainment section is open until late at night.

In Szczecin there are a lot of shops. There are big modern hipermarkets , or some little shops in the city.
It's up to you where you prefer doing shopping - and prices are still lower than in other EU countries.

We visited in mid December and found this street market dealing in nothing but Christmas trees, decorations and the like. I'm not sure if it doubles as an ordinary market at other times of the year. Certainly it's not a patch on some other Christmas markets (Bratislava for example) but Mrs,_p managed to pick up some good bargains on decorations.
What to buy: Anything related to Christmas decorating.
What to pay: Certainly much cheaper than the UK.

Q: Can someone explain the difference between 'Normal' and 'Half-fare' for the trams? Thank you.

A: Won't it have something to do with special rates for children and/or elderly?
