Boguslawa Promenade is my favorite place to go. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of cafes. During the summer you can seat outside and enjoy great weather and cold beer. During late evenings and nights there is lots of happenings like concerts and smal shows or plays. Off course it is all free of charge.

A nice short movie about Szczecin made by 3 students for the local division of IFMSA - Poland (International Federation of Medical Students' Associations).
What the authors say: "The aim was to show our beautiful city in a bit different way than it is usually described. Well, it is our work, we did our best as amateurs, we hope that you will like it. Cheers."

It is a monument to commemorate the events that took place in December 1970 (brutally suppressed protests of the Szczecin shipyard workers).
The Polish 1970 protests (Polish: Grudzieñ 1970) were anti-communist protests that occurred in northern Poland in December 1970. The protests were sparked by a sudden increase of prices of food and articles of daily use. In the result of a riots, brutally pacified by the army and Citizen's Militia, at least 42 people were killed and several thousands were wounded.

The Archdiocese Cathedral Basilica was rebuilt may times and is originally from 1187, the towers are from the XIII and XIV C. The Basilica was destroyed in 1944 and rebuilt in the Gothic style in the 1970`s.
The interior is rather empty as yet. There is a triptique (XIV C.), a Pieta (XV c.), Baroque burial slab stones, baptistery. The altar has a relic of St. Otton. In the eastern wall is the largest West Pomeranian stained glass window (87 sq. m) representing the Holy Mother with Child, the Holy Spirit and figures involved in the history of the Church. The Basilica contains the "Great Bell" from 1682.

The three nave church of St. Peter and Paul was built between 1425-40 over the wooden church which had stood here and which had been constructed during the baptising missions of Bishop Otto from Bamberg done on this spot in1124. The church was destroyed by artillery fire during a siege of the city in 1677 and its renovation continued from 1678 to 1702. Due to lack of funds only one nave was reconstructed.
There are precious decorative elements to be found on the burial stones from the XVII C. and wooden ceilings with paintings presenting Biblical scenes. (1703). A Baroque brass chandeliers and a plafond presenting the Holy Trinity has been restored in a part of the church. The exterior walls are decorated with characteristic mask work and terracotta portraits of certain citizens of Szczecin.

Q: Can someone explain the difference between 'Normal' and 'Half-fare' for the trams? Thank you.

A: Won't it have something to do with special rates for children and/or elderly?
