This Polish harbour city is located 12 km away from German border, 130 km from Berlin, 230km from Poznan, and 60 km from the Baltic Sea. The access to the city is easy with railway connections to the biggest cities in Poland and abroad: Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Budapest. There is a regular ferryboat connection with Ystad (Sweden) , Copenhagen and Bornholm (Denmark) from nearby Swinoujscie. The Goleniow airport offers direct flights to/from Warsaw, Great Britain - London and Edinburgh, Ireland - Dublin and Norway - Oslo. Leave a Comment

Cruise ship in Szczecin by sprdak11 If you have a yacht - you can also come to Szczecin by Swinoujscie, Szczecin Bay and Odra river. In Szczecin there are a few marinas. The bigger one is on Odra is in Goclaw part of town at Lipowa street. And in Dabie part of town on the Dabie Lake at Przestrenna Street. During summer the marina at Waly Chrobrego Street is opened - in the heart of the city. This summer each time I visit Waly Chrobrego - there are always a few yachts from Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway or the Netherlands. This year also some big cruise ships visited Szczecin - like "Delphin Reinassance" or "Columbus". The picture was taken during the visit of the great cruise ship on Waly Chrobrego in Szczecin. trams in Szczecin by Leipzig Szczecin is a stone throw away from the Polish/German border. Due to its direct link to the autobahn (motorway) it can easily be reached by car (90min from Berlin). You hardly have to wait on the border. In town the best way to get around is by public transport as parking spaces are not easy to find. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

Great way to take a ride around Szczecin is to hop on TRAM #0 every sunday during the summer months. If you have lived in Szczczecin in the 80's (like I did) it is also very nostalgic, since we all have beed riding on those kind of trams to work and school back in the days. TRAM #0 is an old restored tram, that is making a circle around Szczecin, so from its windows you can see the best of the town. You can get on #0 on Brama Portowa, next to "Okraglaki". You buy a ticket on the tram, from a nice ticket girl and an engeneer wearing fancy ourfit will drive the tram for about an hour or so, stopping in the various places. Here are few photos taken in August 2006 P.S. there is also so called CUCUMBER BUS, that will take you to the shipyard and other places, it is a great raid too, but be aware it may make you unwell if you are sensitive. We survided it and had lots of fun. Theme: Other
