The Rotunda is a 19th century arsenal south of the town. The building survived the second world war but 8,000 people were murdered there by the nazis. There is a small museum which retells what happened to the town. There are also some cells dedicated to the soviet massacre of Polish Army Officers at Katyn.

I realise this may not appeal to everyone but if you have a couple of hours free and some children in tow it can be a way of having a pleasant afternoon. I went on a Sunday and it was very popular with a constant queue waiting to get in. Some of the features were a large wolf enclosure and small garden area. Some of the cages were small and dated for the large cats.
