Favorite thing: The town is cut by the main road no.1 North-South of Poland -so it's worth to stop on your way by car at least for 1hour. (there are 5intersections with lights at the main road no.1 in Zgierz- so you can turn aside at any of them -just ak locals for "drewniane domki tkackie".)
The town was founded in 13th century, however as most of the Polish territory was destroyed during so many wars in last centuries- so there is not much of the old architecture (before 18th centrury) left.
But -there is a nice neogothic church of St.Catarina of 1908.
and- there is THE BIGGEST COLLECTION IN EUROPE OF WOODEN HOUSES OF TEXTILE WORKERS FROM 18th-19th CENTURIES -was over 200 of this peculiar houses, now only around 50 are left.. The town is too poor to take good care about reconstruction or maintanance of these great wooden houses -so take a look -before it is too late.. and give your ideas on preservation -if you may.

I was born in this town. It is located near the city of Lodz, in central Poland. I finished primary and secondary school here and have many friends here.
