SKIING!!!! Since 2003 -even if you are in central Poland and would like to do down-hill skiing -you don't need to travel to the south of Poland to the mountains. You can go to Zgierz- 5km from Zgierz there is a public sports area "Malinka".
An artificial slope for skiing -plus 2 lifts plus snow-canons (if there is no sonw)- nice for an evening or weekend.
In MALINKA during summer- you can ride a mountain bike- nice tracks, swim in the lake or go canoeing.
For cross-country skiing- you can do it whenever there is natural snow - there are many forests around Zgierz -with the biggest inside-city part in Europe- LAGIEWNIKI FOREST IN LODZ.
