Favorite thing: Zgorzelec together with neighbouring Goerlitz applied to be a culture capital of Europe in 2010. Although they didn't get chosen the renovation certainly started and will hopefully finish one day too.

Favorite thing: Actually a lot of the town was built in socialist times. It makes a good contrast to the old buildings from former times when Zgorzelec was part of Goerlitz.
