Marina, Albufeira

Albufeira has a fairly new marina located a little away from the center of town to the west.
It´s still in the build up fase, but i think it´s a pleasant part of town to hang out with some nice cafes and restaurants there among the boats and the travel agents.
It´s not a huge marine like in Villamoura or Lagos, but it´s a pleasant place to spend a few hours watching the boats and enjoying that special atmosphere of a marina.

Just ten minutes drive west of the center of Alburfeira is the lovely Marina area,here you can take a boat out for the day or simply stroll round taking in the lovely weather,have coffee in one of the cafes or just sit down and relax.
The Marina is only a few years old so its quite modern looking with lots of coloured Dolphins displayed around and colourful apartments nearby.A nice place to visit to escape the crowds of Alburfeira.

There are several boat trips that sail from Villamoura Marina, you can arrange them from your hotel reception, the one I took was the 'Finistere' sailing boat. We paid 24 euros (July 2006) for a three hour sail, unfortunately the weather was a bit rough and couldnt get anywhere near the seashore. There are also some ribs (rigid inflatable boats) which actually take you inside the caves but these were fully booked.

If u are looking to the ocean, begin ur walk to the right...there u walk through some streets...cliffs...and get to the marina of the place.

A new and famous architect in the region build the new building.

It's something very special because of its colours...I guess it's taste thing...u go and see it if interests u. I like the new design and colours...very creative and different:-)

Vilamoura is a bit more upmarket. Luxury hotels, apartments, restaurants and shops.

There are also golf courses, tennis, water sports, horse riding, bowling and lots of night life.

The main part of Vilamoura is this huge marina as you can see on my photograph. Some beautiful luxury yachts moored here, unfortunately none were mine!

We did find parking a bit of a problem.

It is a new boat marine in Albufeira, It is a great place for a wall or a boat travel. It has some restaurants a bar and it is very peaceful, one of the best marinas i have ever been.
This year we took our boat to Algarve and we “park” there great travels we did.
