Favorite thing: Take at seat at one of the harbour side bars just before sunset.
Warm breeze, nice drink ,good company, what more can you ask for?
Bottom of bar street to the left of the old fish Market, this is the place to be when the sun goes down.

Favorite thing: Lots of the best restaurants near the harbour sell fish dishes by the kg, if this makes you nervous about the final bill don,t be put off. The waiters are really friendly and quite rightly proud of their local produce and will explain what the different types of fish are like if you fancy trying something totally new. We have never once been ripped off and only been given a fish that was big enough for our needs-they will let you know if they only have bigger fish left and will suggest what they do have for 1 or 2 people instead.

Favorite thing: The tourist town of Alvor lies about 5 miles (8km) from the town of Portimao. Buses and taxis are readily available to travel between the two.
Alvor is a mixture of traditional Portuguese architecture, quiet narrow, shaded sidestreets and bustling tourist resort. There are numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and any other amenities you could require.
In common with most of the towns and resorts on the Algarve coast, the local restaurants are famed for their excellent fresh fish.
Alvor's beach is long and sandy, and remains uncrowded even in the height of summer.

Favorite thing: The beach here is awesome and is always so clean.
You have to take many steep steps to get to the beach or you can use one of the elevators that some of the hotels have provided.
The view of the sea and the beach is what you see on many Portugal postcards so it is nice to be part of a postcard.
Fondest memory: It was nice to watch the Portuguese families play on the beach.
I do not go out on the beach much but I did get a chance to here.
