Take a trip to the main square in the evening there is always something going on and its free. it varies from magicians to street busker's or just watch the artists doing there portraits, we found some evenings we would just sit on one of the benches and just watch the world go by. No need to worry about the shops closing ,most shops are open in the evening until about 10pm or later. If its your first time the supermarkets are called Supermacardos (spelling might be wrong).if your looking for discos your in the wrong location, although there are a couple, it is a mainly laid back location. 2008 and I am back from another visit to Lagos, and what a treat we had in store! if you click here you will see a video I took, we had no idea these people were in town or even who they were but they were spectacular.
No special dress required short sleeved shirt light trousers etc, but you might want to take a light jacket as it can get breezy in the evening. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Town SquareDirections: Head for the Main square.

Scary in daylight ... by Westbrook Right in the heart of town, but never too packed. One of the few places where we ended up getting slowly but properly smashed.

The Three Monkeys is a relaxed, occasionally loud, always welcoming bar. For us was the best in Lagos. Despite the younger crowd, the owner operators (Jon and Kendall) ensure that the music stays cool for those born at the beginning of the 70s.
Erm... no. It's near the youth hostel and often looks like it. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Can't remember but we always found it. Not far from the Cinema.

by eleanorbueza Bon Vivant: wander around the winding cobblestone alleys of Lagos and you'll eventually arrive at this fantastic club. Life is good there, hence its name. One late night, my buddies and I were jumping from bar to bar, looking for a crowded non-smoky place with great dance music, and we found it at last. No cover charge, just walk in, buy a beer, and jump around. You'll party to all kinds of music: American R&B, House, Spanish hits, Old school, Brazilian grooves, you name it! When you finally stumble out of the club at 7am, you'll feel energized and ready for a new day of your wonderful life! You will learn the lyrics to Spanish tunes and meet some beautiful foreigners, like yourself, guaranteed!
Bon Vivant is packed everynight from 10pm to 6am. Dress lightly because you'll be dancing up a storm. Stretchy clothes might be a good idea because you'll wanna 'Get get down', 'Follow the Leader', and 'Jump Around'. Bring a jacket with you (watch it carefully, though) because you might wanna take a morning stroll along the beach with your closest friends. Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Park your car at the harbour front and walk towards the downtown area of Lagos. Follow your ears -- it's the 2 storey brick building with a big bottle of Coca-Cola on the front

if you know a local or are good at exploring and either are travelling with someone special or need to find some peace of mind check out ponta de piedade at night time. this "make out" point... was the supposed place for two lovers. and i can see why. its is away from the city noise and lights so that the stars look brillant against the dark sky. you can climb down the steep trail and lay on a bluff and watch the trawelers sail by and the stars shine. no one is ever there... and its amazingly beautiful. its not far from the city and is extremely safe. i would go either alone or with a friend to reflect or spend quality time. its beautifullllllllll! ps bring a blanket it can get cold Leave a Comment Theme: Other

If you want to experience backpacking partying at its rawest then Whytes in Lagos is a must. The end of the train line in south west Europe, this is where travellers from around the world converge. (slightly biased as I worked there in 1998 - hence my screen name) where you can give the '9 deadly sins' a go (9 shooters). Can you beat the world record (about 8 seconds!)? However quick you do them you'll get a T-shirt which you can wear with pride! If beers more your thing then try a funnel and add a mark to the international tally on the wall. Your country needs you! Unfortunately the other Lagos institution has shut down (Sins bar) - but it's spirit (literally!) was incorporated into Whytes.
Anything goes... beach wear... jeans... nothing Leave a Comment Theme: Adult SpotDirections: In Lagos town centre, but slightly off beaten track. Just ask one of the flyers walking round town.

This was my favourite bar. Why? Beacuse they have the best music in the city!!! REGGAE MUSIC!! They play from ska to new roots: Sizzla, Buju Banton, Third World, Byron Lee, etc. The have a really good caipirinha also. You pay 3 and you have 4. Dangerous offer!! We arrived from Lagos just last week having visited for the third time and certainly intend to return next year. There are many great bars in Lagos however we would have to say “Eddies Bar” is one place to avoid. We paid a visit to Eddies early one evening and after seeing a rather delicious looking marguerita being prepared and served to someone at the bar we decided to order one of the same. The previous drink was shaken and mixed in a cocktail shaker and served in a marguerita glass with the usual salted rim. However our drink was then prepared in under 30 seconds by pouring the ingredients into a plain looking glass and handed to us without ice or salt and certainly did not resemble any kind of cocktail. This was disappointing enough but to top the lot when we complained to the barman he answered “I don’t have time right now to make cocktails”. As previously stated good bars are numerous in Lagos but Eddies is not one of them.

THE IRISH ROVER - BEST KARAOKE IN LAGOS!!!!!! The best karaoke in town. What a great atmosphere!!! For all you Karaoke lovers the Irish Rover only uses the best system SUNFLY!!!! Makes everyone sound fantastic. Even me!!!! There are literally thousands of songs to choose from and Derek (the owner) will even try and find them for you if you can't find it in the book. There is Karaoke every night here. For all you that have done this before you know it's addictive and even if you don't sing 10/10 for the entertainment and atmosphere. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is very friendly. When you go say hello to Derek, Luis and Lucy for us. Tell them the two redhead Scottish girls say hello and will see them all in October. This is our favourite bar in Lagos and I am sure it will be yours too! Cheers and happy singing!!!! How to get there? Go past the Fools n Horses take a left then go up the street and I think it's second on the right past The Dubliner. Just ask you'll find it!!!!!!! Theme: Live Music
