I noticed that the drinks in Lagos are really strong... sometimes too strong to even drink.
Nearly every bar has some kind of promotion to get you in.. there are people handing out flyers everywhere.
There are a lot of Austrailian and English people in Lagos, particularly working in bars, so English is not hard to hear.

The Three Monkeys is a relaxed, occasionally loud, always welcoming bar.
For us was the best in Lagos. Despite the younger crowd, the owner operators (Jon and Kendall) ensure that the music stays cool for those born at the beginning of the 70s.
Dress Code: Erm... no. It's near the youth hostel and often looks like it.

Gil Eanes statue. He was born in Lagos and was one of the Portuguese navigators, valet of Infant D. Enrique, who passed for the first time beyond the Bojador Cape, removing the superstitious terror that this promontory inhaled and thus initiating the time of the great Discoveries (1434).

This is the fortress Forte Do Pau da Bandeira, at the Lagos Port.
Built in the late 17th century, it includes a chapel dedicated to Saint Barbara and has inside an important collection of 18th -century glazes tiles. The fort was restored in the sixties and is a genuine ex-libris of the ancient maritime forts of Lagos.

Did you thought I was going to show you bars and discos? Well, no! That is easy. If you walk in the main streets you will find a lot of them with nice music calling for you.
I'm going show you, instead, some pictures of the city at night.
This is a view of the walls.
Dress Code: If it is cold put your jacket, if it is warm, you may show your beautiful color.

If you want to experience backpacking partying at its rawest then Whytes in Lagos is a must. The end of the train line in south west Europe, this is where travellers from around the world converge. (slightly biased as I worked there in 1998 - hence my screen name) where you can give the '9 deadly sins' a go (9 shooters). Can you beat the world record (about 8 seconds!)? However quick you do them you'll get a T-shirt which you can wear with pride! If beers more your thing then try a funnel and add a mark to the international tally on the wall. Your country needs you! Unfortunately the other Lagos institution has shut down (Sins bar) - but it's spirit (literally!) was incorporated into Whytes.
Dress Code: Anything goes... beach wear... jeans... nothing
