We found this restaurant on our second week and what a find it was: The service was excellent, the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. there was nothing I could fault this place and their staff for,the ambiance was very good and the staff seemed genuine in their approach to making your stay a good one. The layout is simple but modern and comfortable and we never felt rushed by staff at anytime. It really was a great restaurant to eat in with a warm friendly welcome.

The setting is down a side street with tables and chairs outside, looks like a normal tavera nothing to suggest otherwise. However I have never had a Chicken Salad like they make here, fresh with slices of apple on top, it was lovely. The service is very good friendly staff, nothing appears to be too much, and the service is quick. The overall ambiance to britaica is laid back no need to rush.
Breakfast is very reasonable, with scrambled egg ,bacon mushrooms ham, along with rolls and Jam,and coffee or tea with orange juice. A nice way to start the day. Chicken Salad ,freshly prepared and very tasty,im not a salad person normally but i do like theirs. Ice creams to die for ,they have a wide selection of specialized ice creams,so be sure not to eat too much on the main meal. Again another place with a nice ambiance and friendly staff with good service Lagos has so many, and next door they have a beer bar. Watched a couple of football matches there during the worldcup on their big flat screen TV. The waiters assured me that if there was something not on the menu that i fancied they would make it?.
Swordfish steak with the trimmings see the photo, and they do good pork chops. it was perfect, although not my top rated restaurant, that was restr reis. However don't let that put you off give it a try we were not disappointed. This is still a very good restaurant. A restaurant nice and cosy service with a smile and spoke English, there was a nice ambiance about this place with candles on the tables, and were not to be disappointed, the food was cooked fresh .nothing was too much trouble.
Lamb Cataplana, we had heard about the Cataplanas from other visitors to Lagos but did not realy know what to expect. It was one of the most tastiest dishes I have ever had, with potatoes and big chunks of lamb, and the dish must have been two feet around (massive),needless to say we ate most of it and went back another night for the same. I highly reccommend it. This lovely Restaurant is definitely one of the best in Lagos and is well worth a visit even if only for a snack. Service and food are excellent and i had the most fantastic sardines. Tanks inside have live seafood and the décor is lovely. While being a very stylish restaurant it is really reasonable and not to expensive at all. If you do visit this restaurant have a look around, the toilets are down the stairs at the rear and there is a lovely wine cellar visible through a gate. The whole place is lovely and a great experience.
The Sardines were lovely but would like to go through the menu. Theme: LocalComparison: about averageAddress: Rua 25 de Abril 20-22, 8600-763 LagosPhone: 282 762 795 or 282 769 142/ 282

It's simple, it's cheap, it's rustic, it's local, it's recommended by all the guidebooks and by all the locals. Do not ignore this advice. Despite eating in restaurants more than four times the price of the Adega, we failed to find better food in Lagos. It's not smart. The service is entertainingly abrupt. And if you order a large glass of wine, they'll bring you three quarters of a litre.
Steak andswordfish For steaks, order more time on the grill than you would usually. I ordered a rare and it was definitely blue. (I suspect that a blue steak ordered here would happily make good use of yoke and ploughshear). So if you don't like bloody steak, order very well done. The swordfish was huge and fantastic. The meal costs us less than ý7.50 each including huge amounts of wine and several beers. Discovered this jewel when staying near the praia D'ana beach a few years ago and returned nearly every night of our holiday. Having been to Lagos for the sixth time this year was delighted to go back and enjoy the same delights as before. Firstly there is the personal service from the friendly owner called Daniel who runs this family friendly restaurant. You never feel rushed and feel that your custom is truly valued. The speciality is flambé which is done beside your table, but all the meals are delicious- cooked to perfection and served with tasty vegetables. Plus theres always the special after dinner aperatif that is provided when your bill is delivered. Although this restaurant is hidden away and perhaps therefore does not get the attention it deseves- it can be busy which reflects its quality. You can easily get a taxi there or do as our family enjoyed to go on the tourist train around past the lighthouse and get dropped off next to D'ana beach and walk up the hill. Either way we can not reccomend this restaurant enough which is why we return time and again.
All the mains are great but for those with a sweet tooth the crème tart is not to be missed- melt in the mouth delicious! Which one do you prefer? by haiamisa On the second day in Lagos and after the cruise to the grottoes we tried another Chinese restaurant as we were very hungry and saw a tempting Prato do Dia (dish of the day) menu with great prices. The restaurant Sheng Hua is located on the street in front of the marina, close to a petrol station. The two soups cost 1.90 E each, two Prato do Dia cost 4.65E each. With our usual cola and water the bill was 14.90 E, and the food was great. When they brough us the bill we got drinks on the house, two to chose from: rice wine (on the right in the pictures) and lizzard liquer (on the left) which has whole lizzards in the bottle. We couldn't resist the temptation of tasting both of them! We never had tasted lizzards before! Palacio da China by haiamisa On our first day in Lagos we made a trip to Sagres and after returning to the hotel in the early afternoon we decided to go to the chinese restaurant that we had seen on the way to the hotel the day before. We love Chinese food so it was hard to resist and we knew that on our way to north and around we'd taste enough Portuguese food so this was our chance. Palacio da China was the most expensive Chinese we visited on our trip, but we took cheapest portions on the menu, so it wasn't too expensive, but a bit above the average to what we were used to spending for lunch by then. Two soups, shark fin soup and hot chicken soup cost 1.5 E each, Chaw-chaw rice with vegetable, 4.90, Pork in oyster sauce 5.30 and squid fish chop soy 5.30, water 0.80 and cola, 1.30E.The total was 20.60 Euro and the food was great. If we hadn't paid attention to the prices on the menu, the meal could easily have cost double as there were expensive portions too.
