It's an OK place. I'd have preferred Mexican, but hey ho.
The best thing about the place is the ocean view. On the first floor there a great table by the window, and there's several more upstairs with vistas of Meia Praia.
The food we had was unnecessarily fussy. This isn't unusual in Lagos. A lot of smart places just try too hard.
Rachel had the veg dish. This was, well, veg. Albeit in a cheese sauce. I don't think they like people ordering the veg dish. Not that it was bad. It was good. But good for EUR4, not for EUR11. That was just taking the pssi.
The staff were also strangely up themselves. Perhaps deluded that they were working in a fine establishment offering haute cuisine. Despite the experience and the food, we were in a good mood.
We left a generous tip, but immediately regretted it as our waiter rudely grunted us off the premises.
The guy who runs Lounge bar used to own the Mexican that Navegador used to be. Mr Lounge man! Buy it back!
Favorite Dish: I ordered the Portuguese style steak. Apparently the Portuguese like ther steak steeped in vinegar.
I don't believe this.
Sprinkled with perhaps, but not steeped in. Unlike the veggie dish though, it was fairly priced.

We were seduced by the tables in the sun and the cool-looking chairs.
I was concerned. Switzerland is one of the few countries in the world where I actively avoid the local food. There's only so much cheese, bread and potatoes a man can eat.
But the secluded tables in the sun had us.
Oops.
The salad was pathetically small, and all the interesting bits were recently liberated from tins. Rachel's cheese plate was better (some people have a higher cheese threshhold), but then again, arranging cheese isn't really that easy to screw up.
Worst: the whole meal cost nearly EUR20 each.
Do not eat at the A Vaca Swiss restaurant. Perhaps admire the chairs. Even order a beer. But only eat there if you like to part with unnecessary sums of cash for small amounts of utterly bland food.
The Swiss have enough money. In Lagos, spend yours elsewhere.
Favorite Dish: Cheese.
Even the Swiss can't fukc up cheese.

It's simple, it's cheap, it's rustic, it's local, it's recommended by all the guidebooks and by all the locals.
Do not ignore this advice. Despite eating in restaurants more than four times the price of the Adega, we failed to find better food in Lagos.
It's not smart. The service is entertainingly abrupt. And if you order a large glass of wine, they'll bring you three quarters of a litre.
Favorite Dish: Steak andswordfish
For steaks, order more time on the grill than you would usually. I ordered a rare and it was definitely blue. (I suspect that a blue steak ordered here would happily make good use of yoke and ploughshear). So if you don't like bloody steak, order very well done.
The swordfish was huge and fantastic.
The meal costs us less than ý7.50 each including huge amounts of wine and several beers.

Look, atmosphere, wine and ambience: great.
There though, the good things stopped.
We were seated in seconds, but then neglected for over 10 minutes. The menu looked OK.
We ordered two different fish dishes. Both uninspired to the pont of blandness. It seemed as though the chef might have known this: both dishes were so heavily salted, they were close to inedible.
Couldn't wait to leave.
We learned later that they'd only recently opened. They need to get their act together. This was one of the most charming eateries we found in Lagos. It woudl be a shame if they never managed to be more than skin deep.
Favorite Dish: The wine. The best Verde we tried.

Once, Linda's was a bona fide beach shack. EU regulations forced them to pull down the original and rebuild in wood to tight specifications from the ground up.
Never visited the old one, but it had a great reputation. What they have now, however, is superb. Smart looking and feeling. Relaxed atmosphere with great and attentive service.
They deserve to build a reputation just as good as the original.
They don't open beyond 8pm except on Fridays for a BBQ .

Favorite Dish: I had the Thai Chicken. It was a cooler day and I needed something warming. It was that and more.

This is seafood cooked and served in a "Cataplana", a traditional pan, generally made of copper. It seem 2 equal shells that close tight, so the food are cooked under pressure and keep all his flavour. It opens on the table and you feel the pleasant smell of fresh coriander, tomatoes, peppers, oignons and obviously the shellfish, all in a mediterranean way.
Favorite Dish: You must look for a Restaurant that have serve this.
