  • This supermarket has everything, BUT you need a car or get a taxi for this one. This was a good find and is tucked out of the way, I found that this had a far better selection than Intermarche and appeared cheaper too. The other good thing i liked about this one is that it has a petrol station and a car wash (Elephant). The car wash was manual but really cheap, I managed to get the car gleaming for 2euros. I would class this supermarket as a superstore, similar to our Tescos.

    Anything from electrical to food.

    Normal prices if not cheaper.

  • Get there early and see the wonderful selection of fresh sea food, experience the smells and color of the market. You wont get fresher than this. Also if you go upstairs there is the fruit and Veg market ,and one floor above that is that the terrace and roof top veranda with restaurant. From the top floor is a good vantage point to take photos.

    Fish Fruit & Veg

Cheaper than normal prices with it being a market.

  • Its what I call your normal large supermarket that sells all the usual stuff, however a couple of things you need to know about this particular one? Firstly at the top of the hill near the Bomberios is a large add on the wall stating that the supermarket is 300meters? (I don't think so) it took us 25mins to walk. So if your planning on getting your 5ltr bottles of water be prepared. Secondly buy things like T bags etc before you leave, imported English food is expensive. Apart from that they have a very good selection.

    Water and groceries.

local food normal prices, imported food expensive.

  • Buying a Mobile, you should find that that your mobile phone will work fine in Lagos?. I had 2 One was : T Mobile the other O2 both worked fine. To text back to the UK: nothing is needed to be done different, just text in the normal way although the text might cost three times its normal tariff's. To phone: dial 0044(uk) then leave off the ( 0 ) of the code.some phones it will be +44 i.e (example) 01728 593467 would be: 00441728 593467 calls may cost about 47p a minute, depending on operator. Also check the network that has been selected by phone,as it may not be T mobile(example). I found mine to be on a diff network and switched it manually to T Mobile.

A phone that has tri band or even quad.

    Normal Prices

  • If she is still there ,there is a young lady who works at this shop, which we found very helpful and speaks perfect English. We took our Digital Camera to her and had 100photos developed along with a photo CD so that we could then re-use the memory card, not only did they do them in one hour but, also gave us some souvenir photo albums to put them in. good service with a smile.

Get your photos developed and get a photo CD for your Computer.

    Its not expensive.

Casas do Barlavento: Buying or renting a home in Lagos
For anyone looking to buy or rent a vacation home, Lagos has several agencies and services catering to its large ex-pat community. When I was there, asking prices did not seem that outrageous compared to other parts of Western Europe.

    Mullens: Eating Out
When here you have to sample the local dish of Piri, Piri, which is a spicy, tomato based dish served with chicken or pork. The Duck is fantastic, as is the Tuna Steak (unbelievable). If you like spicy go for the Beef Mozambique, the most tasty meal I've ever had, no joke! I worked for Mullens and part of my wage was a free meal (ask the workers-I was the envy of them all) and most of the time I had the Mozambique, yes its that good.

Mullens is the best, so a bit more expensive but still only around £6-£7 for the duck, which is the most expensive dish! Not bad eh!
