Mercado municipal.: The market halls in Olhao.
The market halls in Olhao are in many ways the nerve of the town.
It's located right by the seafront and is bustling with life 6 days a week (closed on sunday).
This is not a tourist market, but a market where you can buy local produce, mainly fruit, vegetables and fish.
There are a few little coffee places connected to the two market halss where the locals meet for a coffee or a brandy.
I love visitng the local market in Olhao, simply cause this is where the inhabitants of Olhao gather, especially the blue collar people of Olhao.
What to buy: Fruit, vegetables and fiash, plus a few other local specialities.

Pedestrian shopping: Picturesque
The historic area of the town is really rather picturesque and gives a totally different view of Olhão from the port and the fishermen's quarter. In the surrounding narrow, cobbled pedestrian streets are a wide variety of inviting shops and pavement cafes that tempt you to linger!
The narrow streets in the city centre invite tourists purchasing souvenirs as well as local handcrafts.
