The second time I went to Alvor, in November, on my last day I was taken to a huge Gypsy Market in Portimao. I think that it is held on the first Saturday of each month(?). This place was amazing, you could buy absolutely anything - clothes, watches, car CD players, fishing rods and microphones to name but a few...
Unfortunately I had no money left by this time and so could buy nothing, but there were lots of stalls selling everything you can think of for only 5 euros!
Bit of advice though, Seamie bought a reel for his fishing rod for 5 euros, and he says it broke the first time he used it - so maybe it is not always a good deal to buy something for 5 euros!!
Market tables outside Sagres: Bulky cotton sweaters
Market tables loaded with cotton sweaters are set outside this historic landmark.
What to buy: Sift through and find the sweater sizes and colours that suit you. Great gifts for family and friends. Cardigan, pullover or button crewneck types.
What to pay: Can't recall exactly but for far less than in Canada.
