This was the most friendly and comfortable place that we found in PDR. The proprieters (Andre and Christina) made us most welcome.
Favorite Dish: They make a fantastic Spaghetti Bolognaise, home made. Also the Chicken Piri Piri was good. They cook virtually anything you request!
At the beach in Praia da Rocha you have several small restaurants where you can have good meals and the staff is friendly. There is one restaurant that stands out: Senhora da Rocha.
Jay runs this restaurant near the turqois parasols with excellence. I don't know how he does it, but it is just that little better than the others. The best dish is (what do you expect in Portugal) the Fish of the Day. Caught in the morning, grilled in the evening or at lunchtime. How mush fresher do you want it? Steaks and sauces? Everything is prepared on a per dish basis.
Best of it all is that prices at the Senhora are very competitive. Good food, low prices. Nothing tops that.
Favorite Dish: My favourite dish in the Senhora da Rocha is the Catch of the Day. I've eaten the sole and the dourada. Perfectly grilled: not dry, but juicy. Combined with the sun and the ocean breeze and the ocean view it makes the your holiday at the Algarve perfect.
This is the portugeese version of Burger king. There is one on the main strip. Its so cheap.
Eat upstairs as the views of the resort are great and the room isnt used much!
Favorite Dish: Love the 1 euro 95 cent meal known as the classic , for that you get a burger ,coke and fries. You can have beer instead of coke for the same price!
All that for £1.30! you can get bigger meals, the desserts are good value too.
The food is first rate be it locally sourced fish or local dishes. The owner and his wife run it and go out of their way to welcome you. They are open for Breakfast's lunches or Dinners. And I can recommend anything on the menu. Such is the choice. So give it a chance the next time you are in Praia Do Vau it is a 15 minute walk from Praia Da Rocha, and well worth every foot of the walk. It is just facing the beach.
Favorite Dish: I recommend anything on the menu honestly!
This place was recommended by our friends who visied Portugal last year and we included it in our plans.
Located on Portimao Marina dock.
Easy to find.
Favorite Dish: We had Arroz de Marisco (several types of shellfish spiced and gently boiled with rice) some salad, soup and sangria.
Main course was so delicious and plentiful that we invited our waiter to join us.
He deserves all the cudos for the service with humour, small talk and efficiency.
It was so tasty we had to finish the meal.
Bacchus Bar is a great place to watch sports and have a good inexpensive meal. The menu is eclectic, consisting mainly of pub type food but you can get anything from fish and chips to chicken piri piri.
Artur and his son, Artur, are great hosts and make you feel very welcome. The outdoor area is the best - surrounded by greenery, complete with a parrot, a dog named Guinevere and a wide screen tv.
Favorite Dish: Chicken and mushroom pie.
visit the marina for a wide selection of restaurants, true you will pay extra but hey your on holiday.
Parking is about a euro if you stay over an hour and you have access to a small beach
Favorite Dish: lots
