Just before we reached our little beach cove near Armacao de Pera, we spotted a modern looking supermarket on the outskirts of the town. This was good, because we had not prepared at all for our time on the beach! The store was very bright and well arranged, with a great variety of goods.
We purchased a grab bag mixture of items: a sun hat (E4), small towel (E3), two bottles of water (E0.42), three bottles of wine (E11), two hunks of cheese (E7.50) and two boxes of crackers (E2). This was more than enough to keep us going on the beach as well as to have something left-over for the next day when we planned to drive north toward Evora. The total bill came to E28.38 (US$36).
