Vianna: Historic restaurant

Braga - Portugal

You can't miss this cafe and restaurant, with the esplanade in Braga's centre. It is mandatory a stop and a drink (or more), in this nice place, in the middle of the historic area.

I didn't taste the food, only a drink, but, with its location I suppose that it must be pricey (though good, I heard!)

Casa Pimenta: Traditional food

Braga - Portugal

I was taken there by Horacio expressly to eat "papas de sarrabulho", a local dish that is the restaurant's landmark. Wrong day! No "papas"!

I ate some delicious "bolinhos de bacalhau" (codfish pastries) with codfish rice and went out satisfied.

"Papas" will wait for next time.

Favorite Dish: It will be "Papas de Sarrabulho", for sure.

Frigideira: Frigideiras

Braga - Portugal

This coffee shop got a great reputation with an exclusive pastry, with meat, that took the shop's name - frigideira. Well located, in the centre of town, it is always full (and frigideiras are not bad).

Cascata: Good fast food

Braga - Portugal

I'm always suspicious when eating in malls - fast food is not my kind of meal. This time (as a matter of fact... each time I have to risk) we were in a rush, we were there, and I accepted.

Well, I must confess that I enjoyed the meal, the price, and the efficiency of service.

Nothing to complaint.

Favorite Dish: Francesinha à Cascata

Cafe Sporting (Um Bom Cafe): Cheap fast-food

They didn´t have English menus to give, but when we went inside, they showed us what they do have.
Man wasn´t so friendly, but the beers and two toasts with ham and cheese were chepaest ones we had at whole time at Portugal. And they were good for the price.

Conde de Agrolongo: Graceful seafood broth!
koolricky profile photo

2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

koolricky 8 reviews

Nice restaurant, tucked in a building in the grand plaza Conde de Agrolongo. Go down the stairs and sit. Choose any of the fish dishes - they are truly amazing! - and order a jug of the house vinho verde, a bargain!
The meats are also good although I prefer the fish section and the service is spotless!
The price? As good as you can get for your euro...

Favorite Dish: Cassarolete de Marisco.
Imagine nice seafood. Imagine nice fish. Imagine a nice and warming brothy sauce and lots of fluffy mashed potatoes. There you go. It's delicious and I can't resist it. It goes perfectly with the vinho verde.

Conde de Agrolongo: Seafood extravaganza
koolricky profile photo

2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

koolricky 8 reviews

The restaurant is neatly tucked in a building frist floor and cellar. If you're not paying attention you'll just miss it. The staff are highly skilled, they know exactly what they are doing and the food is, taking an average, very nice indeed! THe prices are really good and wine is not overpriced. A jewel!

Favorite Dish: THe Cassarolete de Marisco is an outstanding extravaganza. A pot brought to you to the table gives you a fantastic seafood and fish broth with a very creamy and nice mashed potato to accompain it. The juices are neatly balanced, not too hot, not too salty, not too strong. I just can't have enough of it and when I do, I am usually complaining that I have eaten too much!

Nice café: Enjoy the view ...

Enjoy the view taking an ice cream or a drink in this nice café. It is a must do for sure!
It is very agreeable especially in days that are not too crowed.
The last time I was there it was during the week and there weren’t much people there. At the weekends and particularly in the summer this place is full of people.

Muralha da China: Chinese Food :-)

You will find lots of good restaurants in Braga, but because I love Chinese food I will recommend you the Muralha da China restaurant, it is located in Braga near the Feira Nova shopping mall.
The inside is beautiful and the food very good, so if you are a lover of Chinese food don’t forget the name Muralha da China (Great Wall).

Favorite Dish: All the dishes are good, but don't forget to eat using the chopsticks ;-)

Brasileira: Traditional cafe
micas_pt profile photo

4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

micas_pt 1207 reviews

Brasileira is a traditional cafe that has been there for long years. Building is nice outside and inside it is decorated like it was a 19th century room.

A certain "ambience" inside it, ... People from every ages and status gather together inside.

I had a nice pastry called Pastel de Nata, a typical portuguese cake. And my coffee as i am addicted to coffee. Both were ok, not outstanding though.

Service is not that good, ... employees are not helpfull.

Favorite Dish: If you are not in a hurry you should go inside and drink or eat something and enjoy the place, see locals both young and elderly, notice different status and how they behave, it is interesting.
