Covilhã Nightlife

As I mentioned previously, we were travelling with small children which didn’t allow us much nightlife, … But still, the hotel has a cosy bar with snooker tables. Most people in the hotel’s bar where couples with children, so children all gathered and played together while parents could play some snooker or have a drink. But beware: if you ask for a drink, make sure is comes straight from the bottle, as I ordered a caipiroska (vodka, lime, sugar and ice) and I must confess it was the worse I’ve ever had – instead of lime (which they hadn’t) they used lemon.

Strolling around the illuminated city centre at night is very nice. Mainly, if you are lucky enough with the weather as it was our case – although we visited in middle February and this is a mountain area, the temperature was not too low, which allowed us some nice walks through the city, even with small children. In front of the City Hall you will find a square where there is café with open air tables, ideal for adults to sit and talk over some drink, while little children run around and play in the large square.
