Near Évora there is a small town called Estremoz. Estremoz is famous nationwide and also in other countries due to its white marble – it is called the “white gold of Estremoz”. I’ve read that Portugal is the second European supplier of white marble, after Italy. About 90% of Portugal’s white marble extraction is done in Estremoz area. So, in Évora you will find some beautiful sculptures made in this “precious” stone, such as the one on my photo. This sculpture is located on a small garden by the Roman Temple.

This photo exhibition has the title "Um Mundo chamado Harmonia" to show different views of different people to a known Evora's recreative association called Sociedade Harmonia Eborense.
People envolved at the exhibition: Hugo Coelho, Joao Leitao, Joao Sustelo, Luis Mora, Mario Campos, Manuel Picarra, Wenceslau. This is one of my pictures.
Very recent gallery that opened with its first show in June with a german artist called Andre Birken. This is intented to be a new place in Evora where you can actually run away from the necro-turistic standards of art valuation like has been so far in the city. Turism is high here in Evora and art galleries prefer having the typical art concept of painting to sell. Place to show paintings, sculpture and instalation.
Belongs to the Sociedade Harmonia Eborense.
Directions: Go down the Raimundo street after the main square, just besides the turism office. its the number 13 when gooing down on the left side.
