There are public buses going several times a day from Lisbon to Evora and they will start at the central bus-station of Lisbon, next to the metro-station "Zoological Garden"
We took the bus at 09.30 am and the total ride took almost 2 hours and the return-ticket was 20,70 euros. The buses are very comfortable and modern and on your way to Evora you will drive over the giant new bridge on our way back we went over the older bridge, next to the statue of Christ.
For more details about bus-connections in all of Portugal, click on the link below, unfortunately it is only in portugese !
In Evora the bus-station is close to the cemetery and the old townwall with an easy walk to the towncentre.
The bus is a better option than the train if you are travelling from Lisbon as it is much quicker and still good value. Our journey took just under 2 hours and it cost about 7 Euros. The bus leaves from Sete Rios in the northern suburbs of Lisbon and there are buses hourly throughout the day. The scenery was pretty unremarkable - best was when leaving Lisbon we crossed the famous Vasco da Gama bridge, Europe's longest bridge, over 17km long!
I took bus from Lisbon to Evora for EUR9. It takes less than 2 hours. The bus station in Evora is outside the wall. It will take a good 20 mins walk from the bus terminal to the pension. Alternatively, you can take the bus transfer from bus terminal to the market square for EUR0.5.
After Evora, I took bus to Faro for EUR 13. There is only one bus a daily at 2:30pm.
This is an inside view of Evora bus terminal. You can get buses from all over the country from here. North or South. You also have daily buses to Madrid. 3 times a week to Sevilla or Algeciras (in case you just want to take the ferry boat to Morocco...haha).
