Favorite thing: This area is know for surfing although on the day we visited (middle of week) we saw only a few off the beaches near the town Peniche itself...as you progress further south from the town the cliffs take over from the beach and there is a constant war between the elements here.

Favorite thing: The lady at the tourist office was very helpful. Don’t just ask for a map but do as I did and ask what there is to see. That way we were pointed out all the main sights including the rocky coastline, the citadel, the old town wall, the beaches and the place where you enquire about boat trips to Berlenga island.
