The tourist office in Peniche had told us that there was a café by the light house. Since we walked around the peninsula we were only to happy when we saw that the upmarket looking restaurant had a self-service café with an outdoor sitting terrace with a view of the spectacular rocky outcrop in the sea.
On top of the restaurant and café there is a public lookout to view the coastline.
We ordered ice tea and a mixed toast which is in Portugal a ham and cheese toast. The drink and food was brought to us. The ice tea was Euro 1.25 and the toast Euro 1.80 which was very cheap for such a touristy spot. The Pastelaria Brismar is a centrally located pastry shop and café. It doubles as an ice cream parlour and you can also buy lottery tickets. They have a large outdoor sitting area but when we visited it was somewhat too windy so we prefered to sit inside for our ice cream.
