The best sightseeing point in S. Martinho do Porto is the mount that stays north of the entrance of the bay. Construction is growing, revealing some disorder, but some watching points are still available.
A great place to go is at the highest point of São Martinho do Porto. On this hill is the Independance Memorial overlooking the bay. They fixed up this location this year and built a new road surrounding a cross. This is a perfect place to take photographs of the bay and the ocean.
The rugged northern sea coast is something that usually visitors use to miss in São Martinho.
The northern sea coast has no beaches at all. However it's worth a visit just to look over the wide Atlantic Ocean.
São Martinho do Porto has a boardwalk that leads from the bay to a smaller beach called Salir do Porto. It travels along the beach and is great for romantic walks.
