Views of Lisbon, Lisbon
There are couple of good view points (Miradouros) in Lisbon.
One of them is Miradouro Santa Lucia, from which the roofs of Alfama and the white top of the impressive Mosteiro de San Vicente can be seen...
...This and the above photos have been taken at Amoreiras area (just next to our hotel);
however the best place to get the whole picture of it is at Bairro da Serafina. I only saw from the car window!
Notice also the bright blue azulejos.
Favorite thing: There are two terraces in Alfama that are great viewpoints over the city. One is Miradouro de Santa Luzia by a small white church and the other is Miradouros das Portas do Sol. Two great places to watch the city lit by the late afternoon sun before climbing up to the castle.
The rustic feel of Lisbon is what I love about this city, especially the neighborhood of Alfama. On a clear, sunny day, I would have loved to have brought my painting gear and capture the very scenic views I saw.
Fondest memory: Roaming around the rustic and quaint streets of Lisbon.
You can see the best perspective of Lisbon if you cross 25th April bridge and visit "Cristo Rei".
You'll see from Algés to Parque das Nações if you catch clean sky.
Fondest memory: In Cristo Rei pay attention to some monuments, churches and riverside.
The 25th April bridge is enormous and very beautiful in this picture.
Favorite thing: These vantage points are mostly gardens that are usually located at the highest points of the city. From these you can enjoy beautiful views over the city.
Favorite thing: If you go to Almada Youth Hostel (Pousada da Juventude de Almada) you'll get this view of Lisbon from the bar. So, why not staying in the Youth Hostel instead of the hotel?
Favorite thing: In the evening, after the sun goes down over hills, there are strees sinking into a warm light.Old lamps gild the whole town.
Narrow streets, ruins and old houses disposed in stairs to the sky…
Fondest memory: I`ll miss the long walkings late in the night.Such a peaceful atmosphere so,we hate to go to bed.
Favorite thing: the biggest bulfigting arena in Portugal. I hate bullfighting and i thought pretty much if i would show this building in VT...here it is.
Favorite thing: ...From the hills of Castelo there´s also a good view to this Igreja de Santa Graca, once the greatest church in Lisboa. From the church itself there´s a great view towards the city.
...MORE VIEW POINTS!
Another splendid view is from Bairro Alto over the city and the Castelo...
Fondest memory: Lisboa(Lisbon) is a coast line city. You can climb up a mountain and see the city and the Atlantic Ocean.
This picture is made from top of the Elevator de Santa Justa.
You can see the Tejo River and the roofs of Lisbon Houses.
Favorite thing: One of the best memories that I have of Lisbon was the Rio Tajo, because it's the most large river I never seen, it seems to be in front of the sea
