This is a very classy restaurant: the staff switched effortlessly from Portugese to English and were very professional. The interior is beautiful (if not the exterior, which is a door in a wall) and it has a lovely ambience, including a cockatoo.
My rising expectations were not really met by the food, however. I ordered the salad entree followed by the goat, and the goat was particularly disappointing. I'm pretty flexible around food, but the green sauce it came with was bizarre.
The red wine was very similar to Australian.
Favorite Dish:
My friend loved the steak he ordered, and the chocoalte dessert.
I loved the Fonseca port I ordered for apperitif.
This restaurant, located at Travess das Amoreiras, is said to be one of the luxury restaurants in the area.
You must reserve a table, ring the door bell and wait to be guided into the lobby where you are served complimentary champagne glasses by the owner´s wife.
The style is very upper-class with nice antiquites and a tiny country-yard.
The service was excellent but not so much the food.
Over-prized!
